The last game of the season involved a long trek around the M25 to the Middlesex Stadium Ruislip, and saw the visitors play to their true potential for possibly the first time this season, with Thurrock and Tilbury a well deserved victory.
Due to travelling problems the Boroughs team played the first 10 minutes with just 10 players. When they came up to full strength, they adopted a 3-5-2 formation and took total control of the mid-field with the home team unable to cope with Thurrocks passing game.. However with their first meaningful counter attack, and following a defensive slip Hillingdon took the lead with a well taken goal. Half time arrived and in spite of their superiority Thurrock trailed by the only goal of the half.
The second half continued in the same vein, with the visitors enjoying the majority of the possession, and coping easily with any brief counter attacks. The break through came following a firm tackle from Dodds in the centre of midfield, followed by an excellent through ball, splitting the defence, finding Kerry Henry who finished a fine move with a neat chip over the advancing keeper. This was followed shortly by the the visitors second, this time from Toni Collins when she converted a neat cross from Chanelle Farell.
The home team attempted to fight back, but were well contained by Thurrocks defence, and the lead was extended when Kerry Anne beat most of the home defence before firing a shot past the keeper into the net. Again the home team came back and this time with 5 minutes to go, brought the score back to 2-3. leaving an exciting end to the game. The points were secured when after some last minute defending, the ball broke to Toni Collins who in turn put Dion Henry in on goal, who duly lobbed the keeper to finish the match in style and confirm herself as the top scorer for the season.
